Knowing that Belvidere and the Stateline area are going green, we are excited to bring an Eco-Friendly drycleaner to our community. We will be using a product called DF2000™ - The Cleaner, Safer Solvent.
DF-2000™, as an alternative dry cleaning solvent, provides an environmentally friendly solution that is healthier for dry cleaning machine operators and our customers.
According to The Environmental Protection Agency, DF-2000™ is safer on the water table and a better choice for cleaning your personal garments than its predecessor, Perc, which is now known to cause dizziness, headaches and nausea, as well as skin, lung and eye irritation.
Perc, the long-standing and widely used (over 90 percent of current dry cleaners nationwide) solvent irritates mucous membranes, damages liver and kidneys, and can affect the nervous system and reproductive organs, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
